摘要
The International Decade of Sciences for Sustainable Development (IDSSD, 2024–2033) of United Nations provides a global framework for transforming how science serves society. Central to these initiatives is the recognition that scientific progress alone is insufficient, achieving the Sustainable Development Goals requires active public participation, cross‑cultural dialogue, and inclusive knowledge co‑production. The PROS‑Eco (Promoting Research on Ocean Sustainability: Predictive Ecosystems Resilience) Program, an international initiative endorsed by UNESCO under the IDSSD framework, is led by the State Key Laboratory Satellite Ocean Environment Dynamics of the Second Institute of Oceanography, Ministry of Natural Resources. PROS‑Eco focuses on predicting marine ecosystem resilience under the dual pressures of climate change and human activities, and fostering SDGs of ocean and human health. The program explore how to foster dialogue across disciplines, cultures, and media types, and how to translate complex scientific knowledge into accessible, actionable insights that empower citizens to become active stewards of marine ecosystems. By showcasing successful cases of citizen science, science communication, and participatory governance, the talk aims to inspire new approaches for bridging the gap between science and society, ultimately contributing to a more inclusive and sustainable future for our ocean and planet.
