摘要
Physical oceanography is often perceived as abstract and inaccessible — full of contours, indices, and correlation coefficients that mean little to a non-specialist. Yet buried inside this particular research on North Pacific Subtropical Mode Water (STMW) is a genuinely cinematic story: a hidden body of water that remembers, travels, and quietly governs the climate we live in.

This project begins where the science ends — at its most artistic figure — and works backwards to recover the human story it contains. The final figure becomes the hook — the mysterious image that makes a viewer ask, "What is that?" and translate it into a series of scientifically accurate yet visually compelling explanations.Each visual peels back one layer, transforming raw data structures into intuitive, sensory forms without distorting the underlying science.

The arc, in one line: A hidden water we never see stores the ocean's memory — and that memory shapes the climate, the seas, and ultimately the life that depends on them. The visuals should honor a dual mandate: scientifically faithful and emotionally magnetic. We treat each stage of the story as a "scene," moving from the abstract to the intimate.
