摘要
With the developments in the field of wakefield acceleration, it has become apparent that strategies like staging will be necessary to achieve high-energy, high-quality electron beams that are required for future collider applications [1].
One aspect concerning beam quality that has been mostly neglected thus far is the spin polarization of the witness beam. Most of the research on polarized beams in wakefields has so far been studying the injection and acceleration in low- to medium-energy regimes [2]. Moreoever, targetry based on the photo dissociation of hydrogen halides has been shown to have inherent limitations concerning plasma density and interaction volume [3]. In this talk, we present particle-in-cell studies on staging of polarized electron beams and the pathway to high-energy applications like deep-inelastic scattering where polarization is a requirement.
