摘要

We developed a multi-frame imaging Thomson scattering diagnostic system at a 10-kJ laser facility to investigate fluid-like plasmas with a low Knudsen number, generated by colliding two CH foils driven by 5 ns lasers. Our study focuses on two main areas: macroscopic hydrodynamic structures and fundamental microscopic plasma processes. To investigate hydrodynamics, we seeded 1-D perturbations using a CH grid and captured the spatial and temporal evolution of large-scale (~500 μm) velocity perturbations. To study basic plasma physics—specifically electron thermal conduction and inverse Bremsstrahlung absorption —we utilized multi-frame imaging and double-wavenumber Thomson scattering to extract both ion-acoustic and electron-plasma spectral features. Ultimately, this multi-frame diagnostic provides a powerful platform for acquiring critical plasma characteristics with spatial and temporal resolution, including density, temperature, and flow velocity, to analyze complex flow fields.
