Foam targets (underdense as much as overdense) in the context of laser-plasma interaction with high-power lasers have gained considerable importance in the last decade for a wide range of topics, ranging from ICF/IFE to secondary sources. Up to now experimental data is still very limited and simulation of the homogenization process is a challenge. This talk will present an overview of ongoing research on foam targetry in ELI-Beamlines. The group is active not only as far as the physics is concerned but also engages strongly in collaborative experiments and technology development. The topic of interest is above all 3D-printed foams based on two-photon-polymerization (2PP) which offer more control, and versatility than chemical foams. Recent printer development offers unprecedented flexibility as far as average density, geometry, plasma properties and composition is concerned.
