摘要
In DC microgrids, quartz-sand-filled current-limiting fuses serve as critical backup protection devices, and their interruption reliability directly affects system safety. Whether the fuse can withstand transient recovery voltage without dielectric breakdown after current zero determines interruption success, yet the post-arc recovery mechanism and its relationship with arcing characteristics remain unclear. The aim of this study is to investigate the influence of arc voltage on arcing and post-arc dielectric recovery characteristics of DC fuses. Experimental studies were carried out on a 20 A quartz-sand-filled DC fuse using RLC oscillatory discharge and the Rabus method. The results show that both arcing energy and postarc dielectric recovery time increase linearly with average arc voltage. For every 10 V rise in average voltage, arcing energy increases by about 15.3 J and recovery time by about 0.95 ms. The average arc voltage reflects energy input during the arcing stage, influencing fulgurite dimensions and initial post-arc temperature, thus determining recovery strength. This study quantifies the correlation between arcing and post-arc processes, providing experimental evidence for understanding post-arc mechanisms and optimizing DC fuse performance.
