Order splitting frequently occurs during the fulfillment of multi-item orders in the context of online retail. We focus on the integrated order assembly planning problem, which aims to optimize the fulfillment of suborders resulting from order splitting. Within a planning horizon spanning multiple periods, the problem is to decide the optimal assembly center and assembly period for each multi-item order, considering the inherent uncertainty associated with order assembly time. The objective is to minimize the overall expected cost, which includes order fulfillment cost, overtime cost, and order lateness cost.
