With the flourishing of Internet Healthcare, Intelligent collaborative healthcare (ICH) services are gradually being treated by physicians and patients as an important channel for achieving value co-creation. However, few studies have focused on the mechanism through which value co-creation behaviors between physicians and physicians, as well as between physicians and patients, affect physicians' online performance. To fill this gap, utilizing 6,600 physicians and 870,000 unstructured interaction data in a leading mobile health APP in China, we empirically investigated the type of value co-creation behaviors on physicians’ online performance in ICH services based on trust-transfer theory. The moderating effect of physicians' professional capital and the disease risk is also considered. Before the analysis, we constructed a classification system for value co-creation behaviors based on social support theory. Using a combination of coarsened exact matching and staggered difference in difference, the results indicate that active instrumental, informational, and emotional support has a positive effect on physicians’ online performance. Furthermore, when physicians have higher professional capital, the positive effect of instrumental and informational support on physicians’ online performance is strengthened, while emotional support is weakened. When physicians treat diseases with a higher risk level, the positive effect of informational and emotional support on physicians’ performance is strengthened. The findings hold significant theoretical and practical implications for fostering physicians' sustained engagement in ICH services and facilitating value co-creation between physicians and patients, as well as among physicians.
