The excellent comprehensive properties of metal ceramic composite materials make them as an ideal choice for extreme environment applications. Nevertheless, the production methodology serves as a constraint on the pursuit of further advancement in development. The integration of wire arc additive manufacturing with thermal spraying techniques has culminated in the creation of a high-strength and tough superalloy substrate with a thick YSZ ceramic coating. The experimental findings indicate that the metal microstructure has been refined and its performance enhanced through the application of external forces. Additionally, the YSZ coating exhibits lower thermal conductivity and possesses excellent thermal shock resistance properties. This treatise may serve as a valuable reference for the amalgamation of metal-ceramic structures and functional manufacturing processes.
