Regarding the significant differences in the physical and mechanical properties of multiple media between the asphalt concrete core wall rockfill dam body and the dam foundation, the complex stress-strain state, and the difficulty in detecting and dealing with dam leakage, the article based on an engineering examples, forms a comprehensive detection method that first analyzes geological, design, and construction process data, and then uses geophysical exploration as the auxiliary drilling detection to further determine the scope and nature of dam leakage. Another on the basis of leakage detection, a control grouting process was developed for the characteristics of the rock filling structure of the rockfill dam, including the sleeve valve pipe method and various slurry systems. The results showed that, the detection and location of leakage in dam body seepage basic accuracy, good treatment effect and high work efficiency, and after the treatment of dam seepage control of the total amount of infiltration is reduced by an order of magnitude. After irrigation, the detection results are full meet the requirements, the total leakage have been reduced to 6.4L/s from more than 700 L/s,and leakage treatment effect is very ideal.
