Health Assessment of Water Ecosystem in Lancang River

The health of the Lancang River water ecosystem is closely related to the high quality development of the plateau river. In 2021, two field sampling surveys were conducted in the main stream of Lancang River during the wet season and the dry season, and a total of 6 sampling sites were set up to collect aquatic biological information such as fish and benthic animals. The characteristics of the water ecosystem in the main stream of Lancang River were analyzed, and the health of the water ecosystem in the main stream of Lancang River was evaluated by the biological integrity index method. A total of 22 fish species and 32 benthic species were collected from the main stream of Lancang River. The results of water ecosystem health evaluation showed that the fish retention index in 100% of the sampling sites was at a good or higher health level. The biointegrity of benthic fauna in the upper reaches of Lancang River trunk stream is good, while the biointegrity in the lower reaches is at an average level.
