Abstract
Heavy metal pollution of dust threatens ecological environmental safety and human health. Although the research related to risk assessment of heavy metals in dust has been carried out, there is still a lack of bibliometric research focusing on this topic. In this paper, Web of Science Core Collection database was used as the literature retrieval source, and the literature measurement and information visualization software CiteSpace was used to systematically sort out the relevant literature on the risk assessment of heavy metals in dust, objectively and comprehensively summarize and analyze the hot spots and frontiers of risk assessment of heavy metals in dust at this stage, so as to provide reference for subsequent research in this field. There was an exponential increase in publications, however, with a difference between China and foreign countries. China contributed nearly half of the growth. This indicates that China is the most active in this research area. The journals publishing risk assessment of heavy metals in dust related research had multiple disciplines. Relevant literature is published mainly in publications in the disciplines of Environmental, Toxicology, Nutrition, Earth, Geology, Geophysics. According to the analysis of Price's law, a core group of high-impact authors and a core group of institutions have not yet been formed. Research related to potentially toxic elements, non-carcinogenic risk, heavy metal pollution, residential areas, carcinogenic risk and pollution assessment had the citation burst last until 2022, signifying the particular attention of scientific communities to these subjects. Overall, this study examined the evolution of risk assessment of heavy metals in dust research, identified the trends and provided future research directions.
