Prof. Xiangguo Xu is now the deputy director of the Institute of refrigeration and Cryogenics of Zhejiang University. His research work mainly focuses on revealing the dynamic characteristics of refrigeration and air conditioning systems and developing the corresponding efficient control algorithms. A series of work have been carried out, such as software-based decoupling control of temperature and humidity, adaptive control of human thermal comfort, self-optimization control of indoor thermal environment, non-contact determination of human thermal comfort, rapid simulation of indoor air distribution and so on. The developed "indoor temperature and humidity simultaneous control algorithm and self-optimizing comfort and energy-saving control technology based on indoor sensible and latent loads identification" were identified as "international leading technology" by Guangdong Light Industrial Council. Those advanced control algorithms are also applied on thermal management system based on two-phase flow, novel open absorption systems and distributed energy systems.
