Design and Optimization of High-current Beam and Long-range Electron Gun for 1 MeV Electron Irradiation Accelerator

摘要
In this paper, a high-current beam and long-range electron gun is designed and optimized based on the weak-beam current problem encountered in the actual electron accelerator irradiation industry. The effects of the cathode-anode gap and two openings of the focusing electrode in the electron gun on the perveance and beam waist are investigated separately by finite element analysis of CST software to determine the optimal structural parameters. The effects of common cathode filament shapes on the shape of the electron beam spot are modeled and simulated to determine the causes of the common irregular beam profile plot generation, and a new filament shape was designed to correct the beam profile plot and improve the quality of the electron beam spot.
