In recent years, a large number of motor vehicles have seriously affected the safety and living environment of the people in the residential areas, causing great inconvenience to people's lives. As a kind of slow-moving traffic, "traffic calming" has been proved to be effective in reducing the impact of motor vehicles on people's lives and improving the living environment. This article summarizes the relatively mature measures of traffic calming in foreign countries, visits and surveys in the field, collects residents' opinions on the implementation of existing measures of traffic calming, and investigates the implementation of measures in the residential quarters of Zhengzhou . Analyzing the practical problems encountered in the practice of various measures, and put forward corresponding suggestions and plans for improvement. In this paper, a hierarchical analysis model (AHP) is established to evaluate the existing facilities, focusing on the important factors such as the realization, economy, comfort, safety, construction and maintenance, and the impact on rescue vehicles. Based on AHP, a hierarchical analysis model of a residential area in Zhengzhou was established. The model was used to evaluate the applicability of existing traffic calming measures and to propose improvement measures. Through the research, it is found that the traffic calming measures in China's residential areas are still relatively scarce and lack of systematic planning. Existing problems should be improved to further improve the quality of life of the population.
The summary and analysis of the existing pacification measures and the evaluation model based on AHP theory have certain reference significance for the planning, construction and evaluation of the pacification of traffic in Zhengzhou residential areas. For other cities in China living in the relevant design also has a certain reference.
