With the acceleration of urbanization and the introduction of the concept of smart city, in order to meet the personalized travel demand, the urban bus passenger transport system will undergo disruptive changes. Firstly, the development trend of urban bus system in the future is analyzed from the perspectives of travel demand change, technological environment change and operation subject change in the smart city environment. Secondly, from the aspects of service model, operation technology and application management, this paper describes the core characteristics of the new regional urban bus system and its influence on the existing operation management model. Finally, effective recommendations are put forward for the planning and demonstration operation of the new bus transport system in the future smart city.
