摘要
ABSTRACT Shield tunneling has become one of the most common methods of tunneling in urban area. The failure of shield tunneling is often caused by poor grouting work at the entrance face of the departure or arrival shafts. The application of FRP reinforced concrete for shield entrance face not only improves the conventional procedure of tunneling but also diminishes the influence of grouting. In addition, it greatly increases the safety of construction during departure and arrival stages of tunneling. During recent years, there have been many successful applications of FRP reinforced concrete in China. Therefore, it is mature to introduce it. This paper briefly describes the conventional procedure of shield tunneling and outlines the factors that influence the safety most. The types and material properties of FRP reinforced concrete, as well as its application for shield entrance face are also discussed. Besides, the design requirements of slurry wall made of FRP reinforced concrete are also introduced in this paper. Finally, the advantages of this method in construction are summarized and its feasibility is verified by finite element modeling analysis. KEY WORDS:FRP, shield, entrance face, slurry wall.
