摘要
Restricted by topography, there are many intersections where the angle of crossing highways is not close to 90 degrees. When the angle of the SI is too small, drivers in acute quadrant have poor line of sight. Due to the requirements of Design Specification for Highway Alignment about the intersection angle is not particular, drivers are limited by the maximum visual field, and the requirement of SSD cannot be guaranteed, which may lead to frequent accidents. Therefore, this paper pointed out reasonable skewed intersection angle based on drivers’ visual characteristics. From the perspective of drivers in crossed-roads, take drivers’ visual field covering intersection sight triangle as a precondition. The intersecting-angle calculation model was established by separately considering vehicles going straight and turning left. The research shows that the minimum of the SI angle is controlled by the left-turn calculation model of crossed-road vehicles. The angle increases with the increasing turning radius. The results provide a theoretical basis for SI design. In addition, it is closely related to the design speed of intersecting roads.
