Intersections in rapid urbanization area are the place of high accident rate and traffic congestion. Research on the form and applicability of intersections of different traffic function and different management according to traffic characteristics and the restriction of land resources conditions is of great importance for improving intersection safety and capacity. This paper analyzes the design factors of intersections and the influence of traffic channelization and control measures on the traffic capacity of intersections, puts forward the optimization design method of intersections based on service level adaptability of intersections, which provides support for the form selection and optimization design of intersections.
