摘要
The smoothness of intersections is widely accepted as an essential factor for urban traffic systems. It can alleviate urban traffic congestion and reduce energy waste. Efficient traffic light control systems are widely accepted as essential infrastructure for smart cities, and they can highly increase a city vitality and convenience for residents. To address the congestion and safety at intersections, we excavate a large number of urban traffic data through data-driven method and design a smart dual traffic light system based on greedy strategy. The system sets two traffic lights in the same phase and vehicle waiting safety distance. One of two traffic lights serves as an early warning function, suggesting that by slowing down the speed of the vehicle to a certain threshold, and it can ensure the smooth passage of the vehicle entering the phase. Through experimental verification, this method can control the behavior of the vehicle passing through the intersection effectively, avoid traffic congestion and improve the traffic volume.
