Research of red mud pavement material stabilized by lime-silica fume on orthogonal experimental method

摘要
Bayer process red mud is the industrial waste residue produced when aluminium ore is produced from Bayer process. Each ton of aluminum produced produces 1.9 to 3.6 tons of red mud ,which depending on the composition of the ore. In order to research the main mechanical performance of lime-silica fume comprehensive stabilized red mud pavement material, the three main factors, i.e. the ratio of lime-silica fume, the dosage of lime and silica fume, and the type of red mud, are selected to be studied. 7-day, 28-day and 90-day are selected as curing period and unconfined compressive strength experiment are done separately. In the process of testing, the X-ray fluorescence (XRF) was done to show that chemical compositions and contents of different types of red mud, and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) to show the microstructure of red mud. The testing data are analyzed from multiple angles by range analysis and variance analysis. The testing results showed that among the three factors, the principal influencing factor is the ratio of lime-silica fume, followed by the type of red mud and the dosage of lime and silica fume in last. The optimum proportion aimed at multi-age is lime: silica fume: Shandong aluminum red mud=24:16:60.
