摘要
The application of porous asphalt (open-graded friction course [OGFC]) mixture on roads with heavy traffic loads is a hot topic. The anti-rutting performance, anti-stripping performance, and water stability of OGFC are evaluated by conducting the rutting test, the Cantabro loss test and freeze–thaw splitting strength test, respectively. During the OGFC’s tests, the study chose three different gradations and nine kinds of asphalts. Stone mastic asphalt (SMA) is chosen as a reference mixture. The test results show that OGFC’s rutting depth is slightly deeper than that of SMA, using the APA rutting test as the indicator. However, the OGFC’s sensitivity to rutting resistance, to load level, to load number, and to temperature are lower than that of SMA. Asphalt of high viscosity, appropriate gradation composition, and certain formation conditions effectively improves OGFC’s rutting resistance. The water stability of OGFC is equivalent to that of SMA when choosing a freeze–thaw splitting strength indicator. The anti-stripping of OGFC using high viscosity asphalt is slightly lower than that of SMA, using a Cantabro loss indicator.
