摘要
The influence of built environment on metro ridership has important significance for improving the integration of urban and rail transit development. This paper investigated the influence of built environment on ridership in Nanjing, China. The study started with POI data mining and AFC data acquisition. The spatial-temporal distribution characteristics of subway stations, as well as the peak passenger flow characteristics of the weekday were analyzed. Based on the qualitative analysis of rail transit and built environment, the data set of built environment factors was established from three aspects: land use factors, accessibility factors and station attributes. The multiple linear regression model was used to analyze the influence of the built environment factors on ridership. Six factors were found significantly related to ridership: employment, CBD dummy variable, number of bus lines, the distance to the destination, terminal station dummy variable and length of the road network.
