摘要
This study uses network econometric models to investigate the transit demand-supply coevolution at the bus stop level using daily boarding, alighting, and bus trips data in the Minneapolis-Saint Paul Metropolitan area (Twin Cities) on a year basis from 2013 to 2018. A positive feedback loop is confirmed that increases of transit supply can stimulate transit demand growth (known as induced demand) and transit demand development can also lead the expansion of transit services (known as induced supply). Spatial correlation matrices are applied additionally to the model, corroborating that significant spatial correlations exist between demand and supply over the transit system, but can only slightly boost the explainability of the models.
