Dr Dezong Zhao is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Autonomous Systems at School of Engineering, University of Glasgow. He is also the Head of the Intelligent and Autonomous Systems Group. He was awarded the EPSRC Fellowship in 2018 and a Royal Society-Newton Advanced Fellowship in 2020, hosts the Leverhulme Early Career Fellowship from 2021. He received the BEng and MSc degrees from Shandong University in 2003 and 2006, respectively, and the PhD degree from Tsinghua University in 2010, all in Control Science and Engineering. He is an IEEE Senior Member and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. His research focus on control engineering, machine intelligence, autonomous vehicles and advanced propulsions.
