Crashes involving pedestrians account for a large proportion of modern traffic accidents, which tend to cause high mortality rate. Therefore, the safety risks faced by pedestrians in the road traffic system need to be studied by in-depth level. In the research of pedestrian safety risk, it is critical to determine which factors and what ways will endanger pedestrian’s situation. Based on quantitative data analysis and field investigation, this paper uses theory of planned behavior to extract the main factors affecting pedestrians' perception of safety risks, including traffic environment, behavior of other traffic participants, electronic products, social pressure, self-moral constraints and behavior habits. This paper constructs a psychological images of pedestrians. The research results can provide reference for improving the traffic environment and setting up warning signs, and also provide new ideas for how to reduce the safety risks faced by pedestrians.
