Spatial Difference Analysis of Residents' Car Use Based on Moran‘s I: Evidence from Kunming, China

摘要
With the rapid growth of car ownership, the travel behavior and activity space of residents have changed. In order to explore the residents' travel mode selection and public transportation facilities services. Firstly, a Moran index was applied to analyze this relationship with the survey data collected in Kunming, China. Then, the Mann-Whitney U test was used to analyze the differences of socioeconomic attribute group among residents in different regions. The results show that the accessibility of residents in the choice of travel mode is not an absolute factor, travel habits has a more noticeable effect on actual travel. Further, the area with high public transport accessibility has a high car share rate, which is generally located in the area with dense urban residence and better good economic conditions. Finally, based on the analysis results, corresponding effective suggestions were provided for the problems in different areas. The results can provide reference and support for urban planning and traffic planning.
