摘要
In historic urban areas, residents and tourists are two groups with different travel behaviors. However, few researches have studies on comparing mode choice behaviors between residents and tourists, which can provide fundamental basis to plan and manage of urban facilities, transportation systems, and services, especially alleviate traffic congestion. The primary objective of this study is to understand the mode choice behavior of residents and tourists in historic urban areas, and their connections and differences. This study is based on 755 effective survey data of travel behavior in historic urban area of Kaifeng. Descriptive statistics, correlation analysis and multinomial logit (MNL) model are developed to evaluate the impacts of factors on the choices of mode for residents and tourists. The results show that the influencing factors of residents and tourists are completely different. Residents' choice of travel mode is significantly affected by trip-related factors and attitude factors, such as travel cost and distance, number of companions, satisfaction of motorized transportation and non-motorized transportation, and is not affected by sociodemographic factors. On the contrary, the factors influencing of tourists are sociodemographic factors and tour conditions, such as age, gender, mode and purpose of tourists to the tourist regions, and are not affected by the trip-related factors.
