A traffic event simulation model and its implementation method for driving simulator is presented in this paper.On the basis of micro-traffic simulation,the traffic event simulation model was added into this method and it could interact with driving simulation vehicle.The trajectory and behavior of event objects were set up, then mapping the simulate vehicle object (the highest priority) and event objects (the higher priority) to the micro traffic simulation objects(the common priority, calling them AIs to better description) list by data binding, which provided the data basis to make the system become unified and real-time.The lower priority objects would adjuste its motion and behavior according to the state (position, speed, acceleration, etc.)of the object with higher priority. After simulate vehicle triggered the event, the traffic event was simulated as designed through the objects real–time interaction.This method has been applied in the traffic event simulation of driving simulator,and solved the problem that drivers lack experience in dealing with traffic incidents.
