摘要
Some previous research believed that the capacity of short-term memory for normal human beings is about 4 objects. And some researchers also suggested that the capacity is influenced by the type of the objects, the more complex the object information with the lower short-term memory capacity. Pedestrians mainly rely on short-term memory to obtain information in the subway station to find ways. Based on the short-term memory theory and combine the subway signs, this paper selected 120 subjects to conduct a cognitive test on subway signs in order to explore the cognitive and short-term memory rules of passengers on subway signs. The test results show that passengers have different memory accuracy for different types of information contained in signs. Among them, passengers have the most accurate memory for line number and arrow, followed by location or other pure text information, the worst memory is logo or orientation. The research conclusion of this paper is helpful to guide the setting of subway guide signs and improve the pedestrian passage efficiency.
