Analysis of Driving Behavior Characteristics During the Transition of Yellow Light Signal Based on Graph

Different drivers' behavior choices during the yellow light signal period are different, which is an important reason leading to traffic accidents. Previous studies are mostly based on statistical principles or mathematical models to analyze driving behavior, and the results are not intuitive enough. This paper collects the data of vehicle operation index and driver's physiological index by real vehicle experiment method, constructs driving behavior atlas, and analyses the driving behavior characteristics of different types of drivers during yellow light signal. The results show that for all types of drivers, the stability of their behavior varies with the decision-making results. Dangerous and conservative drivers show worse driving behavior stability when making decisions to stop and continue driving, respectively. When making driving decisions, conservative drivers pass the intersection in a decelerated state, while dangerous drivers tend to speed up to leave the intersection, and dangerous drivers control the speed significantly higher than conservative drivers. In addition, conservative drivers are more cautious in making behavior decisions. This paper takes the lead in applying the representation of atlas to the study of driving behavior, which provides a new way of thinking for the study of driving behavior and enriches the theory of driving behavior research.
