A review of rock burst and blasting research in deep buried tunnels

Abstract: Rock burst is a common geological disaster under high stress condition .The prediction  of possibility and classification of rock burst are important issues in many underground engineering. Tunnels passing beneath deep rock cover are subject to instabilities caused by induced rock stresses. The results indicate that disturbances from excavation particularly under blasting excavation conditions have an important influence on the intensity and the scale of rock bursts. In this article, the occurrence status, influencing factors, typical characteristics, types and grades, and breeding process of deep underground rock burst are comprehensive reviewed,the standard and classification of rock burst at home and abroad are summarized. On the basis of analyzing the previous information，some practical methods for classification,prevention and mitigation of rock burst are proposed.
