The coupling effect of riser with platform and underwater wellhead is not considered in the conventional mechanical analysis of deepwater drilling riser system. In order to study the mechanical properties of deepwater drilling platform-riser-wellhead multi-body system, a mechanical model of deepwater drilling riser multi-body system was established, considering the geometric nonlinearity of system, wave/current load and soil nonlinearity. The mechanics solver of multi-body system was developed with MATLAB. The integration analysis of deepwater drilling platform-riser-wellhead was realized and the mechanical characteristics was revealed. The study provides theoretical support for the design, analysis and safe operation of deepwater drilling riser system.
