摘要
High-performance CO2 capture using regenerable solid adsorbents like Li4SiO4 has been considered as a promising technique to mitigate the growing global warming problems. Especially, the fabrication of Li4SiO4 adsorbent pellets with sufficient mechanical strength has been considered as an essential precondition for achieving its practical looping application. In this work, a simple and convenient mould-free graphite slope method was proposed for the one-step granulation of Li4SiO4 pellets with sufficient CO2 adsorption capacity and mechanical strength. The effects of different solid-to-liquid ratios and slope angles on the shape and size of obtained pellets were investigated and corresponding parameters were optimized. The granulation mechanisms were also revealed in depth by ICCD camera and contact angle meter. Furthermore, three typical plastics, polythene (PE), propathene (PP) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC), were act as the pore-forming agents to enhance the porosity as well as the capacity of templated pellets. It is found that the releasement of HCl during the decomposition of PVC could react with Li4SiO4 to form LiCl and thus leading to the deactivation of adsorbent. All of above conclusions contribute to the future development and practical applications of Li4SiO4 adsorbent pellets.
