Brief Review of GNSS spoofing and anti-spoofing technology

Spoofing is an emerging threat to all GNSS receivers. It is an intentional deliberate attack aiming to trick receivers into tracking false signals and generating designed navigation solutions, such an attack is hardly noticed if it is committed by a sophisticated spoofer. Recently, as the development of GNSS-based autonomous systems, anti-spoofing is re-emphasized for safety consideration. In order to fully understand the evolution of spoofing and anti-spoofing techniques, the fundamentals of spoofing is explained, and different categories of solutions are briefly reviewed and summarized, presenting the brief picture of the status of anti-spoofing techniques.
