The influence of light environment on human mood and alertness has attracted much attention, and its quantitative research is very important for human-centred lighting control. In this study, the impact of the light environment on mood and alertness was analyzed when the illuminance range is 100~1000 lx. Through the perception of objective physiological signals, the correlation between the physiological parameters of electrocardiogram, electrodermal activity, skin temperature, and blood oxygen signals and subjective indices of valence, arousal, and alertness were quantitatively analyzed. The findings showed that the participants felt the highest pleasure at 700 lx. As the illuminance increased, the arousal and alertness increased, but too high illumination would reduce the valence and alertness. At 500~600 lx, the amplitude and slope of the galvanic skin response were the smallest, and the skin resistance value was the largest. Correlation analysis showed that heart rate variability and skin conductance response can reflect differences in subjective mood and alertness. The research results can provide decision-making criteria for the operation and control of the lighting system to achieve positive incentives for the mood and alertness of the target population.
