Abstract —The speed and position information are required to accomplish the speed and thrust controls for tubular permanent magnet linear synchronous motor (TPMLSM). However, it can be costly to construct, difficult to maintain and vulnerable to signal interference for installing the linear displacement sensors. In this paper, an improved model reference adaptive system (MRAS) with active disturbance rejection controller (ADRC) is presented. The conventional PI speed regulator is replaced by ADRC, which can enable the system to possess better command-following characteristics and stronger robustness under the presence of variations of speed and force ripple. The feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed control strategy are verified by simulation.
