In order to realize the requirement of maglev train for higher speed, a model of long stator linear synchronous motor (LSLMS) for maglev train is established based on the speed of 600km/h. Firstly, the electromagnetic field distribution of LSLSM is analyzed by theoretical calculation and finite element simulation respectively. Meanwhile, the relationships between relative position of stator and rotor, armature current, excitation current and traction force, levitation force, inductance are analyzed. Secondly, the output characteristic of linear motor powered by inverter is studied, which shows relationships between traction force, levitation force and inverter parameters. Finally, the transient process of the output characteristics is studied when inverter and stator current faulted respectively, which is compared with the test data.
