Electrohydraulic discharge shock wave (EHS) is a new technology of underwater discharge application, which is used to crack the rock mass. At present, when the rock mass is under static pressure, the cracking characteristics of the rock mass with repetitive EHSs are still unclear. In this paper, the static pressure environment is simulated by the particle flow numerical simulation software, and the numerical model of the rock fractured by EHS is established. Studies have shown that static pressure can inhibit the formation and development of microcracks. The higher the static pressure, the more cycles of EHS are needed to achieve the same microcrack density, or the discharge energy of EHS needs to be boosted. In terms of spatial distribution, the increase in static pressure will inhibit the development of the number and depth of the main fractures. Finally, this article discusses the relationship between crack density, static pressure, discharge energy and the number of actions of EHS.
