Design of on-site protection device for digital traction substation

Aiming at the deficiencies in the secondary system design of current traction substations, this paper proposes a multi-CPU on-site protection device design that integrates protection, measurement and control, merging units, and intelligent terminals. After canceling the merging unit and the intelligent terminal, the goal of reducing secondary system equipment, simplify the configuration and wiring of the screen cabinet, improve quick action, and improve data processing efficiency. This article first designs the function of the on-site protection device, and then divides the design framework into AC plug-in unit, protection measurement module, input/output module, process layer module, station control layer communication module, man-machine interface module, and power supply module according to functional requirements. Eight modules, such as export modules, communicate with CAN bus between modules. In addition, hardware circuit design such as device selection and wiring are carried out for each module of the design framework in this design.
