This paper proposes a new single current regulator control algorithm of PMSMs in flux-weakening operation. The proposed regulator is a hybrid combination of voltage angle control and conventional d-q axis control, so it achieves both high stability and fast dynamic response. With the new single current regulator, the torque control algorithm can be dramatically simplified using only one look-up table. The proposed control algorithm is verified by experiment.
