Coprime arrays can improve resolution and increase degrees-of-freedom (DOFs) by exploiting the difference co-array. Based on coprime arrays, a number of sparsity-based approaches are developed to estimate the direction-of-arrival (DOA), but it's inevitable to specify an undetermined regularization parameter.
In this paper, we apply two nonparametric iterative approaches named, respectively, iterative adaptive approach (IAA) and sparse iterative covariance-based estimation approach (SPICE) to DOA estimation. Numerical experiments validate the effectiveness of the two nonparametric iterative algorithms.
