High dynamic range at picosecond time resolution is very important for the characterization of implosion dynamics in the inertial confinement fusion (ICF) experiment. A compact streak camera was developed and the measurement of the dynamic range was presented. The result shows that the dynamic range of our instrument can reach to 1000:1 at two picosecond time resolution. The spatial resolution is higher than 20lp/mm in the full time scale. Many potential applications of this kind of streak camera for ICF diagnostics will be reported.
