A MICROIM PINGING STREAM REACTOR FOR THE CONTROLLABLE SYNTHESIS OF Ni-Co-O-B AS SUPERCAPACITOR ELECTRODE MATERIALS
Micromixing Ni-Co-O-B composites Supercapacitors

Abstract:A micro-impinging stream reactor (MISR) has been built from commercial T-junction and steel capillaries to synthesize Ni-Co-O-B composite as the supercapacitor electrode materials. Benefited from the enhanced micromixing performance and higher supersaturation level, the MISR can produce uniform Ni-Co-O-B particles with specific capacitance of ~2415 F g-1 at the current density of 1 A g-1 and excellent cycle stability with only 8.9 % loss of the initial capacitance after 5000 charge-discharge cycles, which were both superior to those of Ni-Co-O synthesized in stirred tank reactor. Furthermore, an asymmetric Ni-Co-O-B//AC supercapacitor has been successfully assembled, which exhibited remarkable performance with a maximum energy density of 43.1 W h kg-1 and power density of
8 kW kg-1. Therefore, this work presents a facile and efficient way in the massive production of transition metal oxide-based pseudocapacitors with superior energy storage performance.
