This paper proposes a novel phase-link current sharing control for light emitted diode (LED) dimming circuit to achieve well-balanced LED string currents and then it can further reduce over voltage protection devices, which exists in conventional LED driver. The proposed phase-link current sharing control is realized by keeping the Boost DC-DC converter is operated in continuous conduction mode (CCM) according to sense one minimum LED string current among multi-LED strings at any time. A Boost DC-DC converter together with the proposed control strategy is also analyzed in detail, along with some experimental results to show the performance and effectiveness of this converter.
