Designing Support of Island-type Tourism Resort Center Based on Artificial Intelligence Technology

City is filled with a large amount of data in all aspects. The city's structured data has been fully explored in the past planning and research. However, the unstructured data of city, such as texts and pictures, has not due to the high complexity of processing. This study takes the HuangGuan Island, a no-man’s island in Fuqing city, as an example. The aim is to design a tourism resort center with the support of unstructured data since there has little structured data to apply in a no-man’s island. Two major branches of artificial intelligence—Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Computer Vision (CV)—are good at dealing with such unstructured data. Among which the online evaluation data can truly reflect the needs of the public, and the rational use of the online evaluation data can make the urban design closer to the public demand. Besides, a large amount of photographic data are gathered with mobile phones. In the research stage, photos are taken on the main tourist route around the island to obtain a visual view of different locations. In analysis stage, in order to make the resort's facilities projects more close to the public demand, we use natural language processing to analyze the online evaluation data to get the current tourism hotspot elements. After that, we used convolution neural network to do semantic segmentation to find a select points with excellent visual landscape as the location of major tourism projects. The results show that the design factors and site selection determined by the analysis are consistent with the ideas from the planners. In a word, the artificial intelligence can simplify the process of planning and serve as a decision support to some extent.
