This project is a National TOD Platform aimed to promote urban sustainability. The TOD Platform is meant to be used by related central and municipal government management, transportation, land-use and planning agencies, transportation and planning professionals, transit companies, developers, the public at-large, among others. It is intended to meet the needs of these various users to move TOD forward in their various capacities and stages, to better understand TOD, consolidate and provide access to access currently scattered guidelines, toolkits, case studies and other resources, assess existing environments, analyse and assess various scenarios, monitor and measure impacts, learn from others cities, be a space to collaborate on collective challenges and share news, and beyond. The design should be such that a user may be in a specific stage in their TOD planning and would be able to follow the steps in a roadmap from the website to fully implement TOD.
To establish a state-of-the-art digital platform for stakeholders engaged in TOD programs in China, this paper researched the basic framework of the system. Three scales are investigated: city, corridor and station; and six basic modules are developed: TOD Resource Database, TOD Information, TOD Diagnosis, TOD Planning, TOD Monitoring and TOD Impact Assessment.
