Objective: There was a significant correlation between outdoor activity time and daily mean erythema UV radiation. This study explores the influence of meteorological factors, geographical factors and economic factors on the outdoor activities of adults in China, and selects the main meteorological factors that affect the outdoor activities of the population, which provides a scientific basis for further research on the factors affecting the outdoor ultraviolet exposure.
Method: This study obtained the outdoor activity time data of 31 provinces (municipalities, municipalities, municipalities directly under the central government), population, male and female, urban and rural populations from the China Population Exposure Parameter Manual (Adults Volume), from China Meteorological Administration. The website obtains meteorological data for the corresponding region and time, obtains economic level data (regional per capita GDP and urbanization rate) from the China Statistical Yearbook, and obtains geographical distribution data (altitude and latitude) from the Chinese map. SPSS22.0 was used to descriptive statistical analysis of outdoor activity time and distribution of meteorological factors in different regions. An independent sample T test was used to assess the distribution of outdoor activity time between male and female, urban and rural populations. Variance analysis and SNK-q test were used to evaluate the distribution of outdoor activities time between different seasons, different economic levels and different geographical distributions. Spearman rank correlation analysis was used to evaluate the correlation between outdoor activities time and meteorological factors of different populations, and the degree of association between outdoor activity time and economic development level and geographical distribution of each province. Using multiple linear regression to analyze the outdoor activity time and meteorological factors of different groups, and screen out the main meteorological factors affecting the outdoor activities time of the crowd.
Result: Among meteorological factors, there was a positive correlation between total population outdoor activity time and maximum wind speed, extreme minimum temperature, extreme maximum temperature, extreme temperature difference, average temperature, mean minimum temperature, average maximum temperature, precipitation, maximum daily precipitation, average vapor pressure, and it has statistical significance (p < 0.05). there was a negative correlation between total population outdoor activity time and the extreme lowest local pressure, the extreme maximum local pressure, the mean local pressure, the extreme maximum and the average air temperature, and the difference was statistically significant (p< 0.01). Among the geographical factors, the outdoor activities time of the crowds varied between different altitudes and latitudes, but the differences were not statistically significant. There is no significant correlation between outdoor activity time and latitude and altitude of different groups of people. Among the economic factors, the outdoor activity time of the population differed between the GDP levels of different regions, and it was statistically significant (F=13.453, P<0.01); the outdoor activity time of the population was different between different urbanization rates, and there were statistics. Academic significance (F = 6.902, P <0.01). There was a negative correlation between outdoor activities time and economic factors in different populations, and it was statistically significant (P<0.01). The correlation coefficient between the total population outdoor activity time and the regional per capita GDP and urbanization is -0.570 and -0.551, respectively. Multiple linear regression results show that the average maximum temperature, average water vapor pressure and urbanization rate are the influencing factors of the total population's outdoor activity time, and the average maximum temperature is the most important factor.
Conclusion: The average maximum temperature of meteorological factors has the greatest impact on the outdoor activity time of the population. Within a certain range, with the increase of the average maximum temperature, the outdoor activity time increases. The higher the regional economic level, the less time people spend on outdoor activities.
