Waste cooking oil cracking at high temperature and its clean application in copper slag cleaning

The development and utilization of renewable energy have become the focus of current research. With a view to the whole life cycle, bio-oil applied in the metallurgical industry can achieve zero carbon emission. Direct cracking of waste cooking oil at high temperature were carried out in a laboratory scale reactor, and the composition characteristics of syngas were investigated with the increase in temperature. At 1300篊, syngas enriched in H2 and CO can be obtained from waste cooking oil. 93.5% of H is converted to H2, and the ratio of C converted to CO, CH4 and carbon deposition are 12.7, 6.9 and 80%, respectively. Furthermore, the results of reduction experiments show that the magnetite in copper slag can be effectively reduced to the ferrous oxide by using WCO as a reductant, and less copper is observed in the slag. The reduction process realized the cleaner treatment of copper slag cleaning.
