Numerical Research on Gas Turbine Combustion System Leakage with Different Enclosure Ceiling Structure and Air-inlet Locations

During gas turbine set operating, natural gas leakage may occur on combustion system inside the enclosure. To ensure the safe operation of gas turbine unit, enclosure ventilation system including the ceiling structure and air-inlet locations should be designed reasonably, thusly to achieve effective ventilation. This paper builds engineering algorithm model about species transportation of a true gas turbine enclosure system to study the natural gas leakage characteristics. Bases on the model and adopts computational fluid mechanics simulation software FLUENT, a series of different leakage locations with high hazard probability, different leakage quantity, different ventilation system pressure under several typical enclosure flow paths are simulated. The results show that slope ceiling and long-span symmetrical air-inlet locations have certain benefits for the discharge of leaking natural gas. The research method and conclusion of this paper also provides reasonable reference for designing and optimizing gas turbine enclosure and ventilation system.
